Camping Safety

Camping Safety

Before you go camping there are some important things that you should always remember.

1. Never bring food into your tent.  Wild animals have a very strong sense of smell.  Even if you think it is properly secured, it might not be.  Store food, coolers, cooking utensils, pots and pans, and even trash inside your car.

2. Pack a first aid kit.  It should contain antiseptics, tweezers, insect repellant, pain releivers, sunscreen, and bandages.

3. Arrive eary enough to have plenty of light to fully inspect your site for hazards such as glass, sharp objects, bugs, or poisonous plants.  You should also be able to completely set up camp before it gets dark.

4. Keep your campsite clean.  Never leave food or garbage laying around.  It can and will attract wild animals.

5. never feed or approach wild animals.

6. Check the weather forcasts before you leave.
